Undermines the stability of the EU: Klochok named a real way to solve the grain crisis

< p _ngcontent-sc160 class="news-annotation">The European Union is preparing to introduce duties on grain imports from Russia and Belarus, but such a step will not help solve the grain crisis.

Head of the Vezha Analytical Center “Valery Klochok on air 24 Channel explained that the problem is much broader and, accordingly, measures should be more ambitious.

How to solve the grain crisis

Valery Klochok noted that as soon as the European Union stops supplies of any products from Russia and Belarus, this will immediately solve the mass problems and there will be no need to block grain and agricultural products from Ukraine.

You (EU – Channel 24) have a problem that you are in You will continue to trade with Russia. Poland, Bulgaria and other countries buy gas from Russia and import liquefied gas in huge volumes, noted the head of the Vezha Center for Public Analytics.

In the end, during the years of full-scale war, European countries would have to engage not in talking about diversifying sources of supply, but in real steps that have not yet been taken.

EU mistakes caused the grain crisis

Klochok noted that Europe had been effectively developing its economy for decades, but had made mistakes regarding the third energy package and dependent cooperation with Russia in the energy sector. They led to a serious imbalance in energy prices.

In addition, it is impossible to subsidize countries with non-eastern economies and at the same time raise prices for gas and electricity. Also, the requirements in the European Green Deal are prohibitive for small farms and business entities that do not have large gross turnover. For them, the burden is as high as taxes in Ukraine.

The European Union has consistently pursued a policy of subsidizing economies. In particular, Poland receives more than $20 billion annually. In the last period, Poles have problems due to violations of rights and freedoms in Poland. It was the Polish political party “Law and Justice” that created the economic crisis in their country.

There are also problems with judicial reform in Hungary and other countries, which is why subsidies were blocked for them and so the farmers suffer. However, they are cynically using Russia's war against Ukraine, blocking our border and continuing cooperation with Belarus and the aggressor country, obviously at very attractive prices.

“I share the desire of the European Commission to build a safe environment for European citizens – to fight carbon emissions and the like. But we must understand that at a certain stage decisions can harm social stability, which is what we have today. Blocking the border with Germany, protests in the Czech Republic, Spain and other countries that have the same nature, that is, not agreeing with the directives of the green agreement, mean that the European Commission must give in,” emphasized Valery Klochok .

How Ukrainian journalists learned about Russia's trade with Europe

  • Recently, Ukrainian investigative journalist Mikhail Tkach, along with a cameraman, was detained by Polish law enforcement officers near the Polish-Belarusian border. The journalist was just filming a story about trade between Poland and Russia and Belarus.
  • Then they were brought to the commandant’s office and began a search – they threw their things on the hood, took away all the memory cards from the cameras , all phones, documents. The journalist and cameraman were kept in the commandant's office for at least 4 hours and only then released after permission from above. After the memory cards were returned to Tkach and the cameraman, it became known that some of the footage had been deleted.
  • Subsequently, editor Yuri Konkevich and videographer Alexander Pilyuk were detained on March 7 during recording border crossings by trucks between the Kaliningrad region of Russia and Poland.
  • Police officers said the reason for the detention was that journalists took too long to photograph critical infrastructure, namely Russian liquefied gas cars. According to the reactor and videographer, they managed to see and also record on camera how Russian grain and gas go to Poland.
