The armed confrontation between the Israeli military and Hamas militants continues. During one of the IDF operations to eliminate terrorists, a French diplomat was killed.

The tragic news was reported by the French Foreign Ministry. The department demands an explanation from the Israeli authorities.

How the diplomat died

As noted by the Foreign Ministry, the deceased diplomat lived in the Rafah area, located in the south of the Gaza Strip. The man lived in the house of one of his colleagues from the French Consulate General, along with two other employees and numerous members of their families.

On December 13, this residential building was bombed by Israel. Approximately ten people were killed, the diplomat himself received injuries from which he later died.

France condemned Israel's actions

The French Foreign Ministry criticized the bombing of a residential building, which claimed the lives of dozens of civilians. The diplomatic mission demands that the Israeli authorities promptly investigate this incident.

Washington asks Tel Aviv to refrain from massive bombings

According to media reports, the United States recommended that Israel conduct more precise operations to save the lives of civilians in the Gaza Strip.

According to the editor-in-chief of the portal “Details” ” Emil Shleimovich, Tel Aviv listens to Washington's recommendations. The IDF does not carry out mass bombings, but destruction cannot be avoided, as well as civilian casualties.

Since the beginning of the operation in the Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces have been trying to carry out only targeted strikes on militants and military facilities.

Recall that the Israeli side has repeatedly provided evidence that Hamas militants use civilian objects and the population as “human shields”, hiding in tunnels under residential buildings and schools and hospitals
