“We expect the members of the UN Security Council to take a principled position regarding the Russian strikes, which have resulted in numerous civilian casualties. We demand clear signals about the need to increase pressure on the aggressor and strengthen Ukraine, including additional air defense capabilities,” Sybiga said.
He stressed that 100 days have passed since Ukraine agreed to the US proposal for a complete ceasefire. This could have been the first step towards real peace. But Russia rejects this proposal and continues to attack peaceful people.
According to the head of the Foreign Ministry, only pressure can force the Kremlin to “choose peace over war.” He also noted that Russian aggression against Ukraine continues to pose a serious threat to stability throughout the world.
Sibiga stressed that the security situation in Europe, the Middle East and the Indo-Pacific region is interconnected, as regimes in Russia, Iran and North Korea act together to undermine international peace and security.
“We must remain united and work together to counter these threats,” urged Sibiga.
