We note that on the same day Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited Ukraine. Together with Vladimir Zelensky, he visited Odessa.

What is known about the conversation

Nikos Dendias on the social network X reported that on March 6 he spoke with Rustem Umerov and Alexander Syrsky about the current security situation in our state.

Today I had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Alexander Syrsky, on their initiative, who informed me about the security situation in Ukraine, said Nikos Dendias.

At the same time, the Greek minister did not provide any additional details of the conversation with the Ukrainian leadership.

Visit of the Greek Prime Minister

  • During the visit of Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Vladimir Zelensky to Odessa, the Russian occupiers launched a missile attack on the city. The President of Ukraine noted that this is precisely what shows that we need to defend ourselves. He reminded us that we need more air defense.
  • Kyriakos Mitsotakis also commented on the incident. He noted that it was an impressive experience – according to him, they did not have time to go to the shelter. The minister admitted that there are no people who are outside of this war.
  • The head of Ukraine noted that the Ukrainian people need weapons and protection “today, not tomorrow.” Zelensky said that in a conversation with a Greek official he raised the question of how to strengthen the protection of people in the south of Ukraine.
