Occupiers threaten that after the attack on the Kharkiv thermal power plant, they will hit other energy infrastructure facilities of Ukraine. However, Ukrenergo is ready for any situation.
Vladimir Kudrytsky, head of the board of NPC Ukrenergo, said this, Channel 24 reports. Previously, energy expert Gennady Ryabtsev how local authorities should prepare for the heating season that Ukrenergo expects any scenarios. In particular, prepares:
- backup power schemes;
- emergency supply;
- their people, repair teams that are ready to maintain the networks 24/7, restore them.
So that all consumers have light in their homes, – noted the chairman of the board of NPC Ukrenergo.
How Ukrenergo solved similar issues before
He added that it is not possible to tell in detail about the preparation plans maybe. However, so that there would be no excitement, he recalled how Ukrenergo resolved such issues before.
“For example, in March, as a result of the invasion of the Russians, we lost a lot of power lines that connect the Kyiv electric center with the Ukrainian energy system. We had to make many non-standard decisions in order to ensure the reliability of power supply to the Kyiv electric center,” Kudritsky emphasized.
Chairman of the board of NPC “Ukrenergo” continued that it was during cold temperatures, but the capital's consumers did not feel it.
He also spoke about the situation when, as a result of the shelling of one of the substations in Western Ukraine, the water supply system of a large city was disconnected from the power supply. The networks there were also quickly restored, and the residents did not feel the consequences.

- Aleksey Arestovich said that Western countries react painfully to strikes on thermal power plants. Therefore, weapons may soon increase.
- Vladimir Zelensky instructed Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal to hold a meeting with the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Regional Development, the Ministry of Finance, and Naftogaz. Now they will create a coordinating headquarters for a quick response to all such manifestations of Russian terror.
