Andriy Yermak announced that Temporary Protected Status, a special status for Ukrainian citizens in the United States, was officially introduced from April 18.
The head of the OP Yermak said that the corresponding decision would be entered into the Federal Register on April 19. Then it will be made public.
I should note that at the request of the Ukrainian side, the date for which Ukrainian citizens must stay in the United States to qualify for TPS has been postponed from March 1 to April 11, 2022,” Yermak stressed.
He noted that citizens of Ukraine who are physically located in the United States on April 11 will be able to use the program. This status will allow Ukrainians to stay in the United States for up to 18 months.
In addition, Ukrainian citizens will be able to apply for a work permit.
Yermak thanked the American partners, the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States and all Ukrainian diplomatic team for productive work.
