Ukraine celebrated its 31st Independence Day. On this day, Ukrainians all over the world took to the streets not only to celebrate this holiday, but to remind us of the war in our state.

Where actions were held with the participation of Ukrainians

Poland

Most of the events today are held in Poland, which of all countries sheltered the largest number of Ukrainians who were forced to flee the war. For example, Wroclaw prepared a whole program for Independence Day.

The celebration there began with a prayer service in the Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, a solemn raising of the flag of Ukraine near the Consulate General and the Independence March. In addition, a 36-meter banner of Ukraine was unfurled in the city center.

A world record for the performance of the national anthem of Ukraine was set today in Wroclaw.

Diplomats, representatives of the Ukrainian community and the clergy laid flowers at the Ukrainian Monuments at the Volsky Orthodox Cemetery. To honor in this way the memory of the fighters for Independence – the soldiers of the army of the Ukrainian People's Republic.

In Gdansk on the occasion of the Independence of Ukraine, a solemn laying of flowers and the Freedom March took place, culminating in a concert of Ukrainian performers. Also in the city they prayed for peace in Ukraine.

In Warsawand a number of other Polish cities hosted the “Heart for Ukraine” campaign, organized by the “Future of Ukraine” charitable organization with the assistance of the Ukrainian embassy in Poland.

Also on the Independence Day of Ukraine, an ultra-marathon of gratitude ended in Warsaw, within which Ukrainian rescuer Vladimir Skovorodka ran more than 800 km from Kyiv to Warsaw.

Germany

In Berlina charity concert with the participation of Ukrainian artists was held at the Columbiahalle concert hall. Potap, DZIDZIO, Alexander Ponomarev, Sergey Babkin, Dantes, Alina Pash, Kola, Probass & Hardi and the winners of Eurovision 2022 Kalush Orchestra.

In addition, The Free World Gathering was held in the city, which was announced the day before by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. In the evening, the Ukrainian Freedom Parade will take place, the participants of which will march from Breitscheidplatz to the Brandebuse Gate.

In Munich, people also took to the streets of the city to celebrate this day together with Ukrainians.

Czech Republic

In Prague, the main actions took place near the Exhibition Center, where rallies were held in support of Ukraine. In addition, Ukrainian musicians performed there, in particular, the TNMK group. All funds raised will be used to help Ukraine's military hospitals.

Latvia

In Riga, flowers were laid at the Freedom Monument, from where the procession of the Diaspora and representatives of the Ukrainian Embassy to the monument to Taras Shevchenko began.

Switzerland

Ukrainians in Geneva celebrated Independence Day with the “Procession of Respect for the Indestructible”. The march went from the Place des Nations to the Palais Wilson (the historic UN headquarters). More than a thousand people took part in the parade.

Many people in Tbilisi came out in support of the Ukrainians. Georgia expressed support to Ukrainians and solidarity on Independence Day.

How Flag Day was celebrated abroad
