Ukrainians around the world hold events on October 14-16 as part of the DefendingUkraine campaign dedicated to the Day protector. Such an action of support was arranged by the Ukrainian society in French Lyon.
The leaders of the society stressed that Ukraine is a “shield of Europe” and the free world. Photos of the action were published online, reports Channel 24.

Ukrainian defenders today personify the heroism and courage of warriors of many generations, warriors of many countries – all those who for centuries defended the ideals of freedom, their land and fought for independence, – the leaders of the community emphasized.
During the action, they remembered the fighters who defend not only the blue and yellow banner of their native country, but also the colors of 5 continents.
It is important to support Ukraine to victory
The demonstrators noted that modern Russia is a terrorist a state that understands only the language of force. It can only be stopped by the victory of the Ukrainian army on the battlefield, which contributes to this victory – Western weapons. Therefore, it is so important to stand and support Ukraine until the final victory.
They added that this week the international community dealt 2 blows to Putin:
- October 12, the UN General Assembly, with 173 votes, condemned the illegal annexations of Ukrainian territories.
- October 13, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe unanimously voted in favor of a resolution recognizing Russia as a terrorist state.

Putin's regime threatens the whole world
Ukrainians in Lyon stressed that after almost 8 months of full-scale war, the international community has finally recognized Putin as the terrorist he has been for many years. We noticed that the dictator has drawn a significant part of his population into a bloody and insane colonial campaign, from which he no longer knows how to escape.
“Putin and his authoritarian regime pose a serious threat to world peace and must be defeated, how Nazi Germany and Adolf Hitler were defeated in May 1945,” the demonstrators summed up.
