Ukrainians again need a “Green Card” for cars/Collage of Channel 24 those traveling abroad in their own car must purchase a Green Card policy. Since the beginning of the war, this rule has been canceled for Ukrainians, but now it is valid.
The National Bank reminded that the cost of the Green Card policy in Ukraine is lower than in most countries. In addition, the process of obtaining a “Green Card” was significantly simplified due to martial law.
According to the NBU, on April 28, 2022, the regulator received information from foreign partners that this policy would be required when crossing the border with Poland. This practice is likely to spread to borders with other countries.
We are grateful to all the countries that have been sympathetic to the situation in which the citizens of Ukraine find themselves. For 2 months, Ukrainian insurers have worked out the optimal conditions for acquiring and using such a policy, – said Olga Maksimchuk, director of the Department for Supervision of the Non-Banking Financial Services Market of the NBU.
What you should know about the Green Card
Today you can conclude an international insurance contract “Green Card” with a 50% discount from Ukrainian insurers. The cost of the policy depends on:
- type of vehicle,
- country of visit,
- duration of the insurance contract.
< p> Policies are issued for a minimum period of 15 days, the maximum one does not exceed 1 year. The price for the “Green Card” insurance policy is determined by the MTIBU and is the same for all insurers.
The cost of the “Green Card” policy in Ukraine is lower than in most countries. Member countries of the “Green Card” system recognize Ukrainian electronic policies, they do not need to be printed and can be presented from any gadget.
