The Kremlin has appointed Valery Gerasimov as the new commander of the Joint Group of Russian Forces in Ukraine. However, does this mean that only Gerasimov is actually in charge of the war.
Andriy Yusov, a spokesman for the main intelligence department of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, said on the air of the telethon that the insane dictatorial regime cannot transfer full control of the war to someone alone.
According to him, this is the essence of dictatorship – the dictator controls everything. He recalled that the appointment of Gerasimov is not something special, because his predecessor, Surovikin, is also a military man.
All this time, Gerasimov headed the headquarters and was one of those who were directly involved in the planning and implementation of this war. The February 24 decision was not political, but military. But it was based on political motives,” Yusov noted.
At the same time, Yusov said that if the decision to attack was taken by the military, then everything could have been different. However, this decision was made personally by Vladimir Putin. He relied on unreliable information given by corrupt collaborators in Ukraine.
“The Russian special services did their job poorly. And the army reported on the training, which in fact was not there,” added the representative of the main intelligence department of the Ministry of Defense.
He emphasized that now nothing has changed in the Kremlin – Putin is still being given false printouts that describe the victories of the Russian army. This does not mean that Ukraine should relax, because the aggressor country has a lot of Soviet weapons.
There are questions of responsibility. The entire Russian society is responsible for this genocidal war, for the attempt to destroy the Ukrainians,” Andrey Yusov stressed. On January 11, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu appointed General Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, the new commander of the Joint Group of Russian Forces in Ukraine. In this position, he replaced General Sergei Surovikin, who became his deputy. Andriy Yusov, a spokesman for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, said on Monday, January 16, that Valery Gerasimov had received an order from Putin to seize the entire territory of Donbas by March of this year.
