Ukraine won the fourth medal at the 2023 World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. The bronze medal in the weight up to 82 kg was won by the representative of the Greco-Roman style Yaroslav Filchakov.
This medal was the first for representatives of Ukraine in the Greco-Roman style at the 2023 World Wrestling Championships.
Filchakov began his performances with a victory over the Korean wrestler Sejin Yang (9:0).

In the quarterfinals he was defeated by the Iranian Alireza Mohmadipiani with a score of 1:4. But then he defeated the Serbian Branko Kovacevic (9:0) in the repechage bout and in the fight for bronze he won on technical points over the representative of Moldova Mihail Bradu (3:1).
Azerbaijani Rafik Huseynov won gold in this category , the Iranian Alireza Mohmadipiani won silver, and the “neutral” Russian Aues Gonibov.
During the award ceremony, Filchakov refused to take a joint photo with the winners, including Gonibov.
