Ukrainian engineers completed training in Britain to protect energy from attacks

by alex

Ukrainian civil engineers have received training in the UK on how to protect critical infrastructure from Russian drone and missile attacks.

This was reported by the press service of the British Ministry of Defense.

Ukrainians were taught to plan the defense of critical infrastructure from attacks: identifying the most vulnerable elements, potential damage radii and the impact of various types of weapons and explosives. In addition, engineers learned to determine where best to place physical and air barriers that would help protect facilities from Russian attacks.

The two-week training course was developed and delivered by British Army engineers at the request of Ukraine. It has become more complex than previous courses, which focused on basic defense measures such as the use of sandbags and digging in.

“British engineers recruited specialist reservists working in the UK's critical infrastructure sector and used their professional experience and technical knowledge to deliver elements of the training at a UK gas plant, military airstrip and port facility,” the report said.

Earlier, Estonian intelligence announced the possible timing of new Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine.
