Ukrainian defenders continue to defend the Bakhmut direction and inflict significant losses on the enemy in manpower. The enemy also has no success in the Luhansk direction.
What is happening in the Bakhmut direction
This was reported by the representative of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Cherevaty on the air of the telethon on January 31. According to him, one of the priority areas for the enemy is still Bakhmut.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy inflicted 197 strikes with barrel-rocket artillery on our positions. There were 42 clashes, – said Sergey Cherevaty.
He also noted that the Russians suffered significant losses in personnel in this direction: 277 invaders were liquidated, another 258 were injured.
Please note. Active hostilities took place in the area of Disputable, Krasnaya Gora, Praskovevka, Bakhmut, Kleshchiki.
Sergei Cherevaty also said that the Russians were unable to block traffic to the highway leading to Bakhmut. All the necessary ammunition, equipment, food, ammunition, everything necessary for our troops are delivered to Bakhmut,” Cherevaty stressed.
Are there any signs of a major offensive in the Luhansk direction
According to the speaker, from time to time the occupiers carry out counter-offensive actions in the Luhansk direction, but it is still impossible to talk about a large offensive operation.
Cherevaty said that the occupiers are pulling up their units to the Luhansk region in order to:

- seize the initiative.
During this day, counter-offensive actions of the enemy took place in the areas of settlements Novoselovskoye, Belogorovka , however, having suffered losses, the invaders retreated, Cherevaty added.
