Currently there are many security challenges in the world – the war in the Middle East, the escalation in the Red Sea, the confrontation between North Korea and South Korea. However, Ukraine remains a priority for the United States.

This is evidenced, in particular, by the security package that may still be accepted by said 24 Channel political scientist Vladimir Fesenko. The largest component in the amount of 61 billion dollars is intended specifically for Ukraine.

“Yes, the war in the Gaza Strip has increased, for example, the supply of artillery shells and some other types of weapons for Israel, but Ukraine’s priority remains unchanged,” Fesenko emphasized.

In addition, other threats provide an incentive for the United States to rapidly increase military production, replenish its own arsenals, and actively participate in international relations. Therefore, this is positive for Ukraine.

Will the situation change after the elections

In the fall of 2024, presidential elections will be held in the United States. It is assumed that Donald Trump, who has a specific relationship with Ukraine, can win.

At the same time, he was already president at one time and during his tenure Kiev received Javelins and other lethal weapons for the first time.

“It is the strategic interests and security interests of the United States that will push them to the rapid development of their own military production, and to help our partners, in particular Ukraine,” concluded Fesenko.
