Ukraine's No. 1 Kostyuk Drops Out of Wimbledon After Losing to American

The first racket of Ukraine Marta Kostyuk stopped playing in singles in the third round of Wimbledon 2024.

In two sets she lost to the American Madison Keys with a score of 6:4, 6:3.

Kostyuk lost to Keys at Wimbledon

The tennis players spent 1 hour and 22 minutes on the court, during which Marta made one ace and made two double faults. The Ukrainian had an advantage in unforced errors (17:20), but lost to Madison in the number of actively won goals (13:27).

In the second game, with the score 2:2, Keys made a break and took the lead. Marta failed to take back her opponent's serve, but in the ninth game she lost again on her own serve. As a result, Keys won the second set with a score of 6:3.

After Martha Kostyuk's elimination from the Wimbledon singles, only two Ukrainians continue the fight for reaching the fourth round — Dayana Yastremskaya and Elina Svitolina.
