The Spanish Civil Guard detained three pro-Russian hackers. They are likely involved in cyberattacks on government agencies and strategic sectors of Spain and other NATO countries.

The hackers were detained in the cities of Manacor (Balearic Islands), Huelva and Seville (Andalusia). During searches of their homes, law enforcement officers seized computer and documentary materials of interest to the investigation.

Spanish police believe that the detainees were associated with the hacker group NoName057(16). This group is known for its DDoS attacks on government and private institutions, critical infrastructure facilities and vital services of countries supporting Ukraine.

A distinctive feature of the NoName057(16) attacks is the use of specialized DDoSia software developed by the group itself. Interestingly, this software is also available for download to all supporters of its ideology.

The investigation is being coordinated by a specialized prosecutor's office and the Civil Guard continues to search for other people involved in these cyberattacks.
