Kondratyuk, in turn, thanked Poland for its support and strategic role as the largest logistics hub through which Ukraine receives American weapons.

“We are grateful to the government of Donald Tusk and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski for their proactive position and constant appeals to the United States to resume military aid to Ukraine and introduce tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation,” Kondratyuk emphasized.

The parties also discussed the results of the Polish presidency of the EU Council.

– Unfortunately, we were unable to open accession negotiations due to Hungary's position. We hope for Denmark's presidency and Poland's important role in overcoming Hungary's veto. Our common goal is to open the negotiation process by the end of this year, – said the vice-speaker.

Other topics include preparations for the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference (URC), which will take place this week in Rome, Italy, and will also feature Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Another major conference is planned for Warsaw next year.

“Poland is very interested in becoming a hub for post-war reconstruction, restoration of communities and investments in the Ukrainian economy. I see in this significant potential for the development of our strategic cooperation at the level of governments and parliaments of both countries,” Kondratyuk emphasized.

The meeting participants, as co-chairs of the Parliamentary Assembly of Ukraine and Poland, also preliminarily agreed that the next meeting of the Assembly will be held in September 2025 in Ukraine.
