President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on Ukraine's withdrawal from the Ottawa Convention, which prohibits the use, stockpiling and production of anti-personnel mines.
This was reported by MP Roman Kostenko, who noted that the head of state had thus put into effect the corresponding decision of the National Security and Defense Council. The decree itself has not yet been published on the president's website.

“I was just informed that the President of Ukraine signed a decree that put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on our country’s withdrawal from the Ottawa Convention, an international treaty prohibiting the use, stockpiling, and production of anti-personnel mines,” he wrote.

He noted that Russia is not a party to this Convention and at the same time massively uses mines against our military and civilians.
