Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that his government will not prevent companies from producing and supplying weapons to their customers, including in Ukraine.
He said this at a briefing following a meeting with Slovak Defense Minister Robert Kaliniak.
Fico is not against the sale of Slovak weapons by companies
As Pravda.sk notes, Fico’s statement indicates that the refusal position concerns possible supplies of weapons and ammunition from the warehouses of the Slovak army.

“If a company wants to produce weapons and supply them somewhere, of course, no one will interfere with this,” Fico said.
According to the Slovak Prime Minister, Bratislava “will do everything possible to help Kyiv in humanitarian terms.” He suggested that we could talk about helping with demining the territory . He announced the possibility of providing medical assistance or assistance with the repair of civilian facilities.
Fico also asked the Slovak Defense Minister to conduct an inventory of military equipment, taking into account the volume of deliveries to Ukraine as of today. Kalinyak wants to renegotiate some of the commercial arms contracts already in place, but he did not provide more details.
Among the existing contracts under which Ukraine expects to receive Slovak weapons is an agreement on the supply of howitzers. Last year, Germany, Denmark and Norway announced that they would purchase 16 Slovak-made Zuzana-2 howitzers for Ukraine at their own expense.
