Ukraine will receive new air defense systems that will protect infrastructure facilities.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexey Danilov spoke about this on Ukrainian Radio.

Thus, he commented on the statement of President Vladimir Zelensky about new military assistance packages for Ukraine following the results of the 17th Ramstein, which took place on November 22.

— Considering that we are now facing the winter period, the issue of air defense is on the agenda. The President and all the people who are involved in providing for our country in wartime are working on this issue. “In the near future, additional anti-aircraft weapons against missiles will be supplied precisely so that we, first of all, preserve our infrastructure,” he said.

The NSDC Secretary explained that we are talking, in particular, about energy facilities, since in winter, with a decrease in temperature, the population must receive a sufficient amount of electricity and stay warm.

Alexey Danilov says that during the meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Headquarters, issues of creating a coalition for the development of Ukrainian air defense were also discussed.

“If we remember what our situation was in February 2022, we begged the world, and the president made daily appeals to close the sky for us. Today we are closing part of the territory, but, unfortunately, not the entire territory is closed yet,” the NSDC Secretary admitted.

He assured that the Ukrainian authorities are doing everything necessary so that “in the near future, the maximum number of our country will be protected by air defense systems.”

At the same time, the official says that the issue of flights by Russian carriers of Daggers, due to which an air raid warning is declared on the territory of Ukraine, is still on the agenda.

— There is one sensitive aspect here that concerns the MiG-31. These weapons can very quickly reach the extreme point of our country in 5-6 minutes, and the center of the country in 3-4 minutes. Therefore, we cannot neglect the safety of our citizens. As for other weapons, we understand the time it will take for them to be on our territory; it is much easier there. If there is a MiG-31 in the air, this is a danger and we cannot neglect the lives of our citizens without warning about it,” he said.

Alexey Danilov called on citizens to take this “calmly,” and the Ukrainian authorities, in turn, will do “everything possible” to ensure that the air raids continue as little as possible.

“But if there is a threat to residents, we cannot take risks,” he explained.

Let us remind you that earlier the representative of the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuriy Ignat, explained that air raids can be long, since Russia strikes in groups of several waves, which is why the Ukrainian air defense forces are constantly on edge throughout the night.
