Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba announced the start of the transfer of Greek BMP-1s to Ukraine. This became known during a press conference in Kyiv, channel 24 informs.

Kuleba said that Ukraine especially appreciates the weapons transferred by Greece so that we can defend our land.
And it is very important that the long-awaited shipment of armored infantry vehicles from Greece has already begun BMP-1 for Ukraine. Soon they will arrive in our army and instantly increase the combat capability and defense capability of our country. – said the Foreign Minister.
Kuleba thanked Greece for this assistance. He also spoke about continuing cooperation with Greece in this area and stated that the priority is to strengthen air defense.
“Greece knows our request and will work on it,” Kuleba added.
How Greece helps Ukraine and opposes Russian aggression
- Recall that Greece and Germany have agreed on a “circular exchange” scheme, according to which the Greek side will transfer 40 Soviet BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine.
- Earlier, Greece announced its readiness to provide its ships for the export by sea blocked by Russia Ukrainian grain.
- Greece also suspended the acceptance of documents for visas for Russians from June 27. It is said that this is for an indefinite period.
- In addition, for the first time in 22 years, Greece will begin exploration of domestic natural gas deposits in order to get rid of energy dependence on Russia. The country must find out before 2023 whether it has gas reserves that it can use.
