Ukraine will have a hard winter, but the US will do everything to protect its infrastructure – Blinken

The US State Department emphasizes that the winter in Ukraine will be severe. However, the West will support the state for as long as it needs it.

Partners will work tirelessly with the G7 and other allies to repair, replace and protect Ukraine's energy infrastructure. This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

We will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes. Ukrainians are in for a harsh winter,” Blinken said.

By the way, Prime Minister Denys Shmigal warned that Russia could try to ruin the New Year holidays for Ukrainians by shelling the energy infrastructure. The official noted that shelling could happen at any moment, but our air defense is ready.

At the same time, Shmihal noted that if there were no shelling on New Year's holidays, there would be no emergency shutdowns.

US to hand over Patriot to Ukraine

  • The US has supported Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion. The US recently announced a new $1.85 billion aid package. Ukraine will receive one Patriot air defense missile battery containing 4 launchers. Also, Ukraine will receive all the necessary equipment for the battery.
  • In addition, our military will be trained to learn how to operate the air defense system.
  • These air defense systems are especially needed by Ukraine during massive Russian attacks. Because Kyiv is already negotiating to increase the number of Patriot from the United States.
