The Head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov held a meeting with the Federal Minister of Defense of Germany Boris Pistorius in Kyiv.
The parties discussed key aspects of strengthening defense cooperation between the countries.

Strategic partnership between Ukraine and Germany
The meeting was also attended by Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Anatoly Bargilevich and Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate Lieutenant General Kirill Budanov.
The main topics of the talks were the destruction of the enemy's missile superiority and the fight against guided aerial bombs.
– We count on further strengthening the strategic partnership with Germany in protecting our skies, – Umerov noted.
He stressed the importance of providing IRIS-T air defense ammunition. The Minister of Defense reported that Ukraine will receive an additional 60 missiles for these systems in the near future.
Supply of artillery and armored vehicles
The parties separately discussed the prospects for the supply of artillery shells, in particular 155-mm caliber old shells. With the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Strategic Industries, the parties analyzed the possibilities for developing the armored vehicle sector.
– German partners are already providing significant assistance with the repair of Western weapons in Ukraine. He emphasized the importance of increasing equipment supplies, in particular through cooperation with other countries, – noted the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
Umerov noted Germany as one of Ukraine's key partners in Europe, thanked Boris Pistorius and the German people for supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Recall that on January 14, Boris Pistorius arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit. Information about the trip was not disclosed in advance for security reasons.
