The insane resistance of Ukrainians proved to the West that nothing will destroy Ukraine as a state/Collage of Channel 24

Statehood exam passed
Volker is one of the few in the American establishment who really understands Ukrainian politics. He didn’t suddenly “remember”, like Spartz known to everyone, about what is related to Ukraine, but was responsible for the Ukrainian direction in the worst times for Ukraine. Therefore, his opinion is definitely worth attention.
Recently, I have been reading a lot of various “fiery patriots” who, in their particularity, did not notice the main thing: the Ukrainian state took place, and this is not my assessment and not the assessment of Ukrainians. This is an assessment by the United States and the leading countries of the West. And there is obvious confirmation of this.
Before a full-scale attack by the Katsaps, we were given the so-called “defensive weapons”. The already legendary Javelins and NLAW are just that. Excellent weapons, but focused on guerrilla warfare. Until February 24, there was no doubt in the West that a Russian invasion would mean the collapse of Ukrainian statehood. They did not doubt the selflessness of the defenders of Ukraine (otherwise there would be no Javelins), but they did not believe in organized resistance, only in “guerilla” according to the “Afghan scenario”.
But the reality turned out to be different. Ukraine survived. Not only as a heroic people, but also as a state. Understanding this has radically changed the paradigm of aid to Ukraine. And now we already have HIMARS, and in the process of solving – issues of American aircraft for Ukraine.
The dream of the UNR and UPA has come true
No one will ever give HIMARS or planes to partisans, even such a question will not be considered. All this can only be given to the Ukrainian state, which, obviously, has taken place, and no one in the world can deny it. The soldiers of the UNR, UPA could not even dream of being recognized by Western democracies, that these democracies would give us the best weapons. We could not dream about it even in 2014, but now we not only dream, but also have, but we put forward more and more ambitious plans for the future.
And all this was taken for granted in the American political elite, where, as Volker notes, the majority actively support Ukraine. Except for the extreme left and right isolationists.
Whether you like it or not, all this is happening in cooperation with the team of the current President of Ukraine Zelensky, which was able to establish an appropriate level of cooperation with the United States and the “collective West”. What Ukraine could not even dream of yesterday. Spartz, of course, can continue its “war about Yermak”, but it doesn't fundamentally change anything.
Although the most important thing is not the surnames. The most important thing is that Ukraine has taken place, Ukraine exists, Ukraine will exist tomorrow, it will outlive the Katsap leaders, and this is obvious to everyone.
