Russia's participation in the second Peace Summit
Zelensky recalled that after the first Peace Summit, Kyiv and Ukraine's partners organized 9 conferences at which the points of the Peace Formula were discussed, based on the results of which they were to prepare a final document by the end of November.
— Russia will do everything, there will be many different proposals from different sides and countries, to stop the possibility of the existence of the Peace Formula and the life of the Peace Summit. And they are working on this now, — Zelensky said.
At the same time, the Ukrainian side expects all countries to unite their position before the Second Peace Summit, the President said. The President of Ukraine also expects clarity on the attitude towards this document from the newly elected US President Donald Trump after he takes office following his inauguration.
Volodymyr Zelensky assured that Kyiv is ready to share the details of the document not only with those states that supported the Peace Formula.
— We are not giving up our position. As all the leaders wanted: Russia should have been at the Second Summit. We will invite them, but… you will see that Russia will do everything to cancel the formula, cancel the summit and then cancel its opportunity to attend the Second Summit. They are not interested in ending the war, Putin is not interested in peace, — the Ukrainian leader claims.
Second Peace Summit
Recall that in the past, President Zelensky indicated that after the founding Peace Summit, the parties should hold a second such event in order to obtain results and end the war.
Western media, in particular, wrote that Kyiv wanted to organize a second Summit before the presidential elections in the United States.
In parallel with this, it is known that some countries are interested in holding the event, but on the condition that Russia, as a party to the conflict, will be present.
Volodymyr Zelensky had previously allowed the participation of Russian representatives at the summit. However, he pointed out that such a step on the part of official Moscow would be evidence that Russia is ready to end the war.
At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry previously commented that the Russian side does not plan to participate in the Peace Summit.
