Von der Leyen spoke in Davos and assured that Ukraine must win the war/Channel 24 Collage
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos. She devoted a significant part of her speech to the topic of the war in Ukraine and stressed that our state must win.
Politics has not emphasized that Putin's aggression should be a strategic defeat for him. Von der Leyen also noted that Russia invaded Ukraine “according to the manuals of the last century.”

In her speech, the President of the European Commission noted that Russia, having invaded to Ukraine, treats millions of Ukrainians not as human beings, but as a faceless population that can be moved, controlled, or used as a buffer between themselves and the West.

Von der Leyen noted that it is not only about the survival of Ukraine and not only about European security, but also about the threat to the whole world order . That is why countering Russian aggression is a task for the entire international community.
Ukraine must win this war, and Putin's aggression must be a strategic defeat for him. We will do everything we can to help Ukrainians gain an advantage and take their own future into their own hands,” said the President of the European Commission.
The official recalled that after February 24, the European Union for the first time in history provided military assistance to the country affected by the aggression, as well as about the already provided financial, sanctions support, asylums for Ukrainian refugees in the EU countries, etc.
Ursula von der Leyen added that the package of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine proposed by the European Union amounted to 10 billion euros is also an unprecedented event in the history of the EU.
Let us recall that in early April, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, together with the High Representative of the EU, Josep Borrell, came to visit Ukraine. Officials visited Bucha and saw with their own eyes the atrocities committed by Russian invaders against Ukrainian civilians. On the same day, von der Leyen handed over to Volodymyr Zelensky a questionnaire for Ukraine to obtain the status of an EU candidate.
