Ukraine may involve other countries in the negotiations/AP

The main proposal of the Ukrainian delegation in the negotiations with Russia is the creation of a system of guarantees and security. The guarantor countries can be involved in the negotiations in 2 weeks.

This was stated by a member of the Ukrainian delegation Oleksandr Chaly during a briefing on the results of the first day of a new round of negotiations in Istanbul, Channel 24 reports.

We have announced the most important requirements. We will be negotiating over the next 2 weeks. I think that in 2 weeks we will invite the guarantor countries to the negotiations,” Chaly said.

The main demand of Ukraine

Ukraine insists on an international system of guarantees and security. This system will be similar to NATO, but even tougher: in the event of aggression, security guarantors will be forced to provide assistance no later than 3 days later (this is how long the consultations will last, NATO does not have such a time limit).

Guarantee Countries

  • UK;
  • China;
  • USA;
  • France;< /li>
  • Germany;
  • Israel;
  • Canada;
  • Italy;
  • Poland;
  • Turkey.

Other countries will be able to connect to this security system. People's Deputy and representative of the Ukrainian delegation David Arakhamia said that Ukraine is already communicating with potential guarantors, and some even gave their preliminary consent.

As Chaly explained, the guarantor countries in the event of any aggression against Ukraine will be forced to take part in consultations within 3 days. If this does not solve the problem, then the guarantor countries should:

  • provide us with military assistance, weapons;
  • close the airspace over Ukraine:
  • do everything possible to restore the security of Ukraine.

Let us remind you that negotiations with Russia began on March 29 in Istanbul and will last 3 days.
