The administration of US President Donald Trump is working on possible negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. But in reality, everything is not as close as it may seem.

Former SBU employee Ivan Stupak told Channel 24 about this, noting that this entire process always happens extremely slowly. The most important thing is that Donald Trump knows that Ukraine is ready for such negotiations.

Why everything could drag on

As Stupak noted, a full-scale war in Ukraine is close to a world war. A huge number of different countries are involved. And organizing such negotiations is not that easy.

Now Trump is gradually getting used to power. Obviously, he needs to analyze the reports, forecasts from analytical organizations and finally form a vision of how everything should be done. Then everything will work. But there is also the Russia factor.

We must not forget that they are all a little “whipped” in the Kremlin. Every second or third person in the Kremlin comes from the USSR special services. They have a characteristic feature that they will never go with an outstretched hand. Let them come to me, even if I feel bad. And now Putin is also starting to say that he is “waiting for a signal” from the United States. This also delays the process, – said Stupak.

Let's add that the media recently reported on the so-called “100-day plan” to end the war from Trump. The head of the Presidential Office Andrei Yermak said that there is no such plan.
