Ukraine is becoming a “combat laboratory” for testing Iranian weapons outside the Middle East. In particular, it is to Iran's advantage that Russia uses its weapons in the war.
A senior US defense official said Iran is essentially testing its weapons through the war in Ukraine.
US concerned about Iran's cooperation with Russia
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin will visit Israel shortly. The parties will discuss Iranian-Russian military cooperation. One of the senior officials of the US defense department noted that Iran, in fact, is using Ukraine as a “test site” for its weapons through the hands of the Russians.

At the same time, he added that Russia is ready to transfer its advanced technologies to Iran in order to receive a new batch of “deadly aid” from it.
What is known about Iran's cooperation with Russia
- At the beginning of 2023, Iran handed over to Russia about 100 million balloons and 300,000 shells.
- Iran also supplies the aggressor country with Shahid kamikaze drones, which the invaders actively and regularly use to attack Ukraine's critical infrastructure.
- In addition, since the fall of 2022, talk has continued that Iran may transfer its ballistic missiles to Russia. However, this has not yet happened. Military observers are skeptical about this and do not believe it will happen.
