Retired American general, former Supreme Commander of NATO forces in Europe Philip Breedlove considers it a powerful achievement of the Ukrainians, who during the last massive attack of the Russian Federation shot down all 10 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles.
The general spoke about this in an interview with the Voice of America.
According to him, in the last two attacks (December 29 and January 2), Russia used interesting tactics. The Russians launched many less powerful drones, which were supposed to overload and distract Ukraine's air defense.

— That is, there was a wave of cheaper, less powerful drones, then a wave of more powerful missiles. And already the third wave — hypersonic missiles Kinzhal. Therefore, we must give them credit — “They were more successful in this attack than before,” the general emphasized.
The American military noted that he has several chains of information that indicate that Ukraine was able to shoot down Kinzhal ballistic missiles, and such work of Ukrainian air defense went down in history.
It turned out that the Daggers are not invulnerable, as Russian President Putin once declared.
— Putin touted that these were the best of all types of strike missiles. We now understand that this is not the case, especially against the latest versions of the Patriot missiles and certain other missiles that we have transferred to Ukraine. They are truly capable of shooting down Daggers, and have had success even in such an attack (on ballistic missiles, – Ed.), said Philip Breedlove.
Recall that on December 29, during the enemy’s largest missile attack on Ukraine, our sky defenders destroyed 114 of 158 enemy air targets: 27 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs; 87 cruise missiles X-101/X-555/X-55.
