In Ukraine, the production of mortar rounds has increased significantly — 42 times, and for artillery shells — almost tripled.
This was stated by the Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Alexander Kamyshin during a conversation with journalists on December 27. According to him, Ukraine is now working to increase this figure.
He noted that the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces are much greater, but increasing production is still difficult due to the lack of explosives and gunpowder in the world.

According to the head of the Ministry of Strategic Industry, Ukraine wants to attract private companies to the production of explosives and gunpowder.
Kamyshin noted that Ukraine began to produce items that had not been created for many years. Among them — 125 mm caliber tank shell and small arms ammunition.
The Minister added that the defense industry of Ukraine — this is 300 thousand people and 500 companies, most of which — private (about 400).
President Vladimir Zelensky previously said that Ukrainian defense industry companies managed to triple the production of weapons and equipment in 2023 compared to last year.
