Ukraine, together with a pool of British insurance companies, has created a special mechanism to reduce the cost of insurance against war risks for exporters of all products. This will make the Black Sea corridor more accessible.
This was stated by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal following agreements between Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
— A strategically important area is free navigation in the Black Sea. A special mechanism will make it possible to provide a discount on the cost of insurance against war risks for exporters of all products from Ukraine, says Shmygal.
According to him, the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) has already provided insurance coverage worth more than $166 million since the start of the full-scale war. Negotiations are ongoing to launch new projects.

The American Development Finance Corporation (DFC) recently approved five new projects worth $380 million, the Ukrainian Prime Minister said.
At the same time, negotiations are ongoing with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on trade insurance. According to Shmygal, a strategically important direction for Ukraine is free navigation in the Black Sea in order to insure exporters.
