The war with Russia is also on the diplomatic front. And there we have more victories.

The U.S. Senate unanimously passed a major bill late Wednesday to relaunch a World War II program known as lend-lease that would allow President Joe Biden to send weapons more efficiently and other deliveries to Ukraine against the background of the Russian invasion.

New sanctions

The need for such a program has been repeatedly written and spoken by me and many colleagues. Finally it happened. And this did not happen automatically, but thanks to the persistent efforts of both President Zelensky and Ukrainian diplomacy. This is only the first step in making such a decision, but the process followed.

The US also imposed new sanctions, including against Putin's daughters. Members of the European Parliament approved a resolution in which they demand a complete embargo on Russian imports of oil, coal, nuclear fuel and gas. This is the reaction of MEPs to the tragedy in Bucha.

The UN General Assembly supported the resolution to suspend the membership of the Russian Federation in the UN Human Rights Council.

Every decision must be fought for

I emphasize once again that this is not happens by itself. Every decision must be fought for. This is precisely what President Zelensky's daily appeals to parliamentarians, politicians and the public from around the world are aimed at.

And there is also the daily invisible work of the Office of the President, the Foreign Ministry, our ambassadors, and other representatives of our government. In the supply of weapons from Western countries to Ukraine, we have to constantly and stubbornly put pressure on our partners.

Literally every new step in this direction should be beaten out on their part. But gradually it brings its results. There is already an understanding and the first decisions to provide Ukraine with air defense systems and heavy weapons, and the Lend-Lease process has begun. Therefore, this pressure on our partners must continue.

We have no other choice. And this will be decisive for further resistance.
