Ukraine produces its own models of long-range weapons, but Ukrainian defense enterprises need more investment to expand production.
Adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Mikhail Podolyak, spoke about this on Channel 24. This was subsequently confirmed by President Vladimir Zelensky in his address on October 12.
According to Podolyak, Ukrainian troops have had significant success in using long-range attack drones, which have helped them strike enemy targets even in the Moscow region. However, in order to achieve complete parity in strike weapons with the aggressor, the missile forces also need other types of weapons.

— If we want to have parity, then we need not only drone production, but rocket production. And we have already developed experimental samples that have 750 — 1000 km range, — Podolyak said.
At the same time, says the adviser to the head of the educational establishment, for parity Ukraine needs scaling of production, which, in turn, requires additional investments.
— Ukraine cannot build, for example, a thousand missiles, or two thousand missiles in six months. But there is production, we invest everything in it. You saw the forum of defense industries, where two dozen preliminary contracts for military production were signed. The state is working on this, — assured Podolyak.
Mikhail Podolyak also says that Ukraine today strives to produce:
- drones of various modifications, including powerful ones with a large damage radius;
- missiles for the destruction of Russian logistics in occupied territories;
- artillery and tank shells of various calibers.
In turn, President Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine continues to develop a comprehensive program for its own production of weapons with clear deadlines and volumes, in particular missiles, drones, armored vehicles, shells and electronic warfare equipment.
— Today at Headquarters, in particular, they talked about how to provide our soldiers with more of their own, Ukrainian armed capabilities. We are grateful to every leader, every state that helps us with weapons, equipment, and shells. And we are doing everything to ensure that there are more supplies, — he said.
The head of state added that the basic course of the state is its own production and its own weapons and equipment, as well as shells.
— All — from missiles and drones to armored vehicles and shells of the required calibers. The Ministry of Strategic Industry has already presented me with reports on several areas: armor, missiles, anti-tank systems. Today at Headquarters there was a report by the Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation on Electronic Warfare — electronic warfare. We are developing a comprehensive program in all such areas with clear deadlines and scope, — Zelensky said.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Strategic Industry, Alexander Kamyshin, said that weapons would become Ukraine’s main export product after the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
