On February 7-8, cyber specialists from the Main Intelligence Directorate and the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a successful operation against Russia, disabling more than 120 servers and destroying 2,000 terabytes of important data. Key enterprises, in particular Gazstroyprom, were hit, which caused damage to the aggressor amounting to tens of millions of dollars.

As a result of the operation, a number of strategically important enterprises were attacked, including the main contractor of the Russian Gazprom, the Gazstroyprom company, as well as 22 more companies providing services for the construction and maintenance of Russia's oil and gas infrastructure.

Ukrainian cyber specialists disabled more than 120 physical hypervisor servers, and also destroyed a huge number of file storages containing documents and other important data in the amount of 2 million gigabytes (2,000 terabyte).

According to available data, a number of Russian companies were subjected to a cyber attack, including Gazprom-Avtomatizatsiya, GSP-Komplektatsiya, Infoservice Region, Vector Vostok, SSK Gazregion and others, including branches of GSP-Center, GSP-Service, GSP-Technologies and Gazstroyprom-Avtotransportnoye Predpriyatie.

This data is an important part of the infrastructure of Russian enterprises, and its loss will have a serious impact on the future work of these companies.

In addition, more than 10 thousand computers of employees of key Russian enterprises were disabled. This means that the work of not only individual companies, but also entire systems and services in Russia has been completely stopped.

According to estimates by sources, the losses caused by the cyber attack could range from tens to hundreds of millions of dollars. This is one of the largest cyber operations of Ukraine, which has caused significant damage to Russian companies and increased pressure on the Russian economy, especially in the context of war.
