– Where conditions for well-managed and safe mobility exist, the parties will take gradual steps to facilitate the travel of citizens and visits to each other's countries, as well as regular contacts and exchange of information on migration results and political intentions, – the text of the agreement states.

Current rules for entry into the UK

At the moment, Ukrainians need to obtain a visa to travel to the UK. To do this, you need to:

  • apply for a standard visitor visa through the British government website;
  • fill out the application form and pay the visa fee;
  • make an appointment at the visa application centre to provide biometric data.

It is recommended to submit the application three months before the intended date of travel.

For Ukrainian citizens who were forced to leave their homes due to the war, there is a special scheme called Homes for Ukraine.

It provides temporary protection under sponsorship program.

Since last year, the Ukraine Family Scheme program, which previously allowed Ukrainians to come to Britain to visit relatives, has been discontinued.

The Ukrainian visa-free regime for UK citizens has been in effect since 2005, but since 2020, due to the country's exit from the EU, the conditions have been changed. The temporary visa-free regime for the British has been extended until January 30, 2026.

To recap, today Ukraine and the UK signed an agreement on a 100-year partnership, which enshrines the development of cooperation in various areas.
