Now I am in the area of Severodonetsk, I spent the day on the Lisichansk – Bakhmut highway. Therefore, I can report what is happening in the area and how great the threat is.
Apu is an obstacle to the worst-case scenario
Russian troops from the Popasnaya region are trying to cut the Bakhmut-Lysichansk highway in the areas of the villages of Yakovlevka-Belogorovka-Berestovo. I was in all these villages during the day. The fighting in this area has been going on for six days in a row.
The Russians' access to the highway may mean that the main communications route to Lisichansk and Severodonetsk has been cut and these cities may fall into an operational encirclement. Of course, our people see it and do it, maybe not everyone, but very much so that this does not happen. A lot of things.
The cordon in this case will not be complete, because there will be one more bypass supply route, but it will be difficult to protect this secondary route. Of course, everyone sees the map, and those who hold the front have many questions. That is why it was important for me to see the situation with my own eyes and tell it to everyone.
Heroes hold the last frontier
Geographically, only one row of heights separates the enemy from this route. And in practice, the Russians cannot overcome this last frontier, because the incredible heroism of the Ukrainian infantry and the effectiveness of the Ukrainian artillery inflict heavy losses on the Russians.
The difficult battles continue. But it is obvious that the Russian army does not have unlimited forces either. They are not able to break through the defenses, they are trying to push through.
In no place has the enemy entered the highway, does not shoot through it with direct fire, but the road is under fire from artillery, mortars and rockets. The track is dangerous due to shelling, but all enemy attacks are repulsed.
I will keep you as informed as possible about the situation. I can’t say everything now, because there is a war going on and the risks are great, but I don’t forget anything in this sector and will remember everything in time.
There is only one plan – victory
< p> The Ukrainian command understands the situation and takes action. The measures are clearly audible and visible, because our artillery is active in this area.
Our personnel units in Severodonetsk and Lisichansk maintain morale and manageability. It is impossible to convey in these words what powerful shelling we have to endure, how, despite the losses, we go into battle, how our soldiers hold on. It's a great honor to be with them.
But no one is going to give in to the enemy here. We will defend Severodonetsk and Lisichansk to the last opportunity. Yes, we have a lot of organizational problems, I see them, but I have no doubt that Ukraine has enough forces to thwart this next Putin offensive and win this big battle.
