Explosions in Zaporizhia on January 8
Before the explosion in Zaporizhia, which thundered at approximately 15:42, the Ukrainian Air Force warned of an enemy KAB in the direction of Zaporizhia.

Fedorov noted that 59 people were hospitalized, 10 of whom are in serious condition.
According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, most of the victims were on the street and in public transport at the time of the Russian airstrikes.
What the Russians shelled Zaporizhia with
As noted by the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Russians launched two strikes with guided aerial bombs (FAB-500 with UMPK) on the territory of the regional center.
— They exploded among a crowd of people — near the administrative part of the infrastructure facility and the roadway, the report says.
In total, four administrative buildings, 27 cars and a tram were damaged. The State Emergency Service units extinguished the fire in the administrative building and cars.
The blast wave blew out windows in several residential buildings. Ivan Fedorov added that utility services have taken up the elimination of these consequences.
The rescue operation continues with the participation of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, paramedics and ambulance workers.
The head of the OVA also showed the first footage of the consequences of the enemy attack on Zaporizhia.
On the morning of January 9, the State Emergency Service announced that emergency rescue operations had been completed.
Zelensky on the Russian strike on Zaporizhia
President Volodymyr Zelensky called the Russian attack aerial bombs in Zaporozhye with a deliberate blow.
The head of state does not rule out that the number of victims as a result of the attack may increase. He also expressed condolences to the families and friends of the victims.
— There is nothing more cruel than air bombs on a city, knowing that ordinary civilians will suffer. Pressure must be put on Russia for terror. It is necessary to support the protection of lives in Ukraine, — said the president.
Zelensky added that “it is possible to end such a war with a lasting peace only through force”.
Lubinets' reaction to the attack on Zaporizhia
Ukrainian responded to the attack of Russians on Zaporizhia Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets, who noted that the Russian Federation once again confirmed its true nature as a terrorist state by carrying out another barbaric shelling of the civilian population of the city of Zaporozhye.
He emphasized that the shelling of civilians is a war crime for which those responsible must be held accountable in international courts.
Lubinets called on the international community not only to condemn these acts of aggression, but also to act decisively.
