Two brothers arrested in Sweden for spying for Russia

Two brothers were detained in Sweden and accused of spying for Russia. It is known that one of them had access to the information of the armed forces of the state.

The media has learned that the brothers committed crimes for a long time, namely from March 2011 to September 2021. They were able to get access to information of interest to Russia thanks to their older brother. This is because he worked in the security structures and the armed forces of Sweden.

The publication noted that during this time the men handed over to Russia more than 40 documents with important information.

They received sentences for their activities

Although the defendants tried to deny the charges, the Stockholm District Court sentenced them to prison terms. It is known that:

  • A 42-year-old man received a life sentence,
  • A 35-year-old brother received 9 years and 10 months in prison.
