On Sunday, November 19, a Turkish cargo ship sank off the Black Sea coast during a storm. There were 12 crew members on board.

This was announced by the head of the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ali Erlikaya, Anadolu writes.

It is indicated that the ship crashed into a breakwater. The day before, the captain said that it was drifting towards a breakwater near the city of Eregli, in northwestern Turkey in the province of Zonguldak.

There is no contact with the crew; search operations are hampered by bad weather.

“When adverse weather conditions improve, search and rescue operations will begin immediately,” Erlikaya added.

Earlier, media reported that a Turkish ship was transporting a cargo of ferroalloys from the Russian port of Temryuk to the port of Aliaga.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Navy explained that the relatively quiet night of November 20 was primarily due to weather conditions. Because of the storm, even Russian aviation was not working.
