Infamous former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, sometimes called the “American Solovyov” because of his pro-Russian propaganda rhetoric, interviewed Russian President Vladimir Putin during his visit to Moscow.
Carlson himself announced this on February 6 in his several-minute video published on X (former social network Twitter).

This was preceded by a video from Russian media that Carlson arrived in the capital of Russia, where he was seen at the Bolshoi Theater.

— We are in Moscow this night. We are here to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin. We'll do it soon — Carlson says in the video.
The former TV presenter also said that he had been preparing for an interview with the Russian dictator for several months. He also added that the interview will be published on his website tuckercarlson.com, and American billionaire Elon Musk, who is the owner of X (Twitter), allegedly promised not to block the interview with Putin.
It is noteworthy that Musk has previously helped spread Tucker Carlson's video on Platform X on multiple occasions by reposting and commenting on his show after the propagandist was fired from Fox News.
In his short video, Tucker Carlson also stated that he allegedly asked for an interview with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
The fact that the interview between Putin and Carlson had already been filmed was stated by Alexey Venediktov, former editor-in-chief of the Echo of Moscow radio station, which criticized the Kremlin before it was closed during the crackdown on media freedom. < /p>
— As I understand it, Tucker Carlson got what he wanted, — wrote Venediktov on the X website.
Who is Tucker Carlson
Carlson was the host of Fox News Channel's Tucker Carlson Tonight from 2016 to 2023, before being fired by the network in April 2023 without official explanation.
After his dismissal, Carlson launched his own show on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter.
He was accused of parroting the Kremlin's rhetoric over Russia's war against Ukraine: his comments included support for Putin and criticism of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, a position that earned praise from Russian propagandists.
So, for example, in August 2023, Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the Kremlin propaganda channel RT, said that Carlson asked her for an interview with Putin, adding that the conservative commentator “does an excellent job& ;#8221;.
Carlson did not confirm the veracity of Simonyan's claims, although the following month he told the Swiss magazine Die Weltwoch that he tried to interview Putin, but the US government stopped me without specifying This is what he means.
Another American television channel, CNN, called Carlson one of the presenters who actively disseminates information about conspiracy theories to a wide audience. Among such conspiracy theories were Carlson's ideas about the results of the US elections and the coronavirus pandemic.
In addition, in November 2023, former US President Donald Trump, who plans to run for President in 2024, said that he was considering Tucker Carlson for the position of Vice President of the United States if he wins the election.
