Deputies in the Bundestag ask from Scholz to continue supplying Ukraine with weapons/Collage 24 Channel

Scholz is still afraid to transfer long-range missiles to Ukraine. Meanwhile, the Bundestag is calling on the Chancellor to take decisive steps.

They want to see a brave Scholz in the German parliament. This is not the first time they have asked the Chancellor to provide Ukraine with long-range weapons, and this time they even wrote him a letter with “pleas.”

Letter of wishes

Deputies of the Bundestag addressed the German Chancellor with a letter in which urged not to hesitate and, in the end, to transfer the much-desired long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine.

The letter was signed by Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann from the Free Democrats, Anton Gofreiter from the Greens and Andreas Schwarz from the SPD.< /p>

According to politicians, Taurus missiles will significantly help Ukraine in repelling Russian aggression.

Deputies also emphasized that Ukraine should be trusted. If Kyiv declared that it would not use German weapons on Russian territory, then there is no reason to doubt that they will fulfill this promise.

In addition to the transfer of Taurus, the Bundestag strongly recommends that Scholz extend the supply of air defense, shells, medical equipment and armored vehicles, as well as provide spare parts for already transferred weapons and ensure proper repairs.

The long-suffering Taurus and the indecisive Scholz: what is known

  • The Bundestag has previously stated that Olaf Scholz is the only person who would block the supply of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine. The head of the Bundestag Defense Committee, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, spoke about this, noting that the Chancellor’s hesitation costs Ukrainians their lives.
  • Scholz himself rejects the accusation of indecisiveness. The politician says that every decision on the transfer of a particular weapon must be well weighed.
  • The other day, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that the issue of transferring German long-range Taurus missiles is moving forward.
  • Analysts believe that Biden will be able to change Scholz's position if he agrees to transfer ATACMS missiles to Ukraine
  • At the same time, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that the decision to transfer Taurus to Ukraine in no way depends on the provision of ATACMS to it.
