Not good for Trump: Kellogg will not be on the negotiating team Anzhelika Galesevich

U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg has not been included in the negotiating team to end the war, a decision that could have a negative impact on President Donald Trump.

Kellogg's appointment has raised concerns in the Kremlin, which could lead to a request for “rotation.” Political scientist Igor Reiterovich expressed this opinion on Channel 24, noting that there are other versions about Kellogg's absence from the negotiating group.

Why Kellogg's name was not on the list

Trump announced the composition of the negotiating group to end the war in Ukraine, which included: Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, National Security Advisor Michael Volz, and Ambassador and Special Representative Steve Witkoff.

However, the list does not include Keith Kellogg's name, although this does not mean that he will not be involved in the process at all. Since Kellogg was only recently appointed, he will likely work more with Ukraine, while Witkoff will focus on Russia.

There is another version of why Trump did not name Kellogg. According to the political scientist, some American presidents, in particular the current leader, may have people to carry out tasks both publicly and privately. Although both Kellogg and Witkoff have already been publicly announced.

Kellogg will continue his work in some way, Igor Reiterovich suggested.

Why it is not in Trump's interests to remove Kellogg

According to the political scientist, the removal of Keith Kellogg could work against Donald Trump, since his appointment in Russia did not receive a positive response. The Kremlin probably expressed an unwillingness to work with him, which could become the reason for the “rotation” in the negotiating team.

This will be a blow to Trump. If the information is confirmed and it becomes clear that Kellogg was removed from the tasks assigned to him by the US President, this will be an unpleasant story for Trump. The question arises: what did Trump ask in return from the Russians, – Igor Reiterovich noted.

Russia does not have the right to veto persons who are engaged in negotiations. If the Kremlin was able to impose its position, this causes indignation. It is even more unpleasant that Trump went to meet him. If this becomes known, the American media will not hesitate to criticize.

It should be noted that Kellogg will soon pay visits to Germany, Belgium and Ukraine. The special representative himself announced on his page on the X platform that he is preparing for a meeting with Zelensky and other Ukrainian officials.
