US President Donald Trump announced that he was not ready to sign Oracle's deal to buy the TikTok app. RIA Novosti reports.
“No, I'm not ready to subscribe to anything, I haven't seen a deal. We need security, especially when it comes to China, ”said the American leader.
On September 14, Oracle confirmed the purchase of the US segment of TikTok. How the deal will be conducted and how Oracle will develop the business is not specified. The company is slated to become a technology partner for China's ByteDance.
On August 23, it became known that ByteDance will sue the administration of the American president. This was a response to the measures of the American government. On August 6, Donald Trump signed two decrees prohibiting any transactions with TikTok owner ByteDance and WeChat owner Tencent. Both projects are developed by Chinese corporations. Washington believes that each of the applications “threatens national security, foreign policy and the US economy.”
