United States Vice President Kamala Harris and presidential candidate Donald Trump have almost equal levels of support . Politicians are divided by only 1%.

After President Biden announced his withdrawal from the election race, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are in a tense struggle. The candidates are separated by one percent among likely voters, the poll shows.

Harris closes gap with Trump

According to a study by the NYT and the Siena College Institute, 48% of voters are ready to vote for the 45th President of the United States, and 47% for the Vice President. We are talking about likely voters.

It is noted that among registered voters the situation differs by two percentage points. In fact, 48% of voters are ready to vote for Trump, 46% for Harris.

As the publication noted, the rapid reformatting of the Democratic coalition probably helped to reduce Trump’s significant advantage. The NYT writes that Harris received 93% of support from Democrats – the same share that Trump received from Republicans.
