Trump has already “moved forward”: how close is Ukraine to the end of the war Petro Sineoky

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has literally destroyed international law with his full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The world could plunge into an even greater crisis over the years.

Russian opposition politician Gennady Gudkov told Channel 24 about this, noting that the defeat of Ukraine and democracy in general in the war with Russia will really plunge the world into difficult times. A redistribution of borders, resolution of issues by force, etc. could well begin.

Is it realistic to end the war in the near future

According to Gudkov, it now looks like Trump is literally “fighting the wrong people.” He is rushing at Denmark via Greenland. He wants to establish control over the Panama Canal, etc. Although Trump could well come to an agreement with Denmark to place missile defense systems and radars on Greenland. It is unlikely that they will be strongly opposed there.

In the context of the war in Ukraine, Trump has already started to move. There was a statement that he wants to achieve progress in the next six months. That is, there is no longer talk of an early end to the war.

According to Gudkov, there is no specific scenario yet that would force Russia to end the war. Probably, sanctions alone will not be enough to put the squeeze on Putin.

It will not be possible to win the war through economic measures alone. The outcome will be decided on the battlefield. If the West gives Ukraine everything it needs militarily, which will be able to neutralize Russia's quantitative superiority, then Ukraine will succeed. Then there will be peace from a position of strength. I don't see any other option yet, Gudkov said.

Previously, Donald Trump has repeatedly said that he is ready to end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours. Although after winning the election, he admitted that it would be more difficult. And Trump's special representative for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, noted that he would try to find a compromise solution to end the war during the first 100 days of Trump's presidency.
