The President of Mexico confirmed on the X social network that the United States agreed to suspend the introduction of 25 percent tariffs on Mexican imports.

She added that Mexico will immediately send 10,000 National Guard troops to the border with the United States to combat drug trafficking and illegal migration.

Recall, On February 1, Donald Trump imposed tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico in the amount of 25% and 10% on goods from China. He explained the introduction of tariffs by the need to combat illegal migration and drug trafficking, which threaten Americans.

In response, Canada imposed similar tariffs on American goods, in particular alcohol and fruit.

Mexico also responded with symmetrical measures, but Sheinbaum withdrew this decision after talking with Trump.
