US President-elect Donald Trump could be the first leader to fly to Ukraine by plane after the war ends.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made this suggestion during a podcast with American host Lex Friedman.
Zelensky suggested Trump's arrival in Ukraine
— Yes, the war will end and President Trump could be the first leader to fly in by plane. I think it would be symbolic, — said Zelensky.
Lex Friedman joked to the words of the Ukrainian president that it would probably be nice if Trump did it on January 25, the date that coincides with the birthday of Volodymyr Zelensky, and the time after the inauguration of the elected US president.

The head of the Ukrainian state added that he would like an airport to open in Ukraine, but for this we need: peace, the absence of war and enhanced air defense systems.
— Let's take Rzeszow airport in Poland, which receives cargo for Ukraine and has Patriot systems there, because everyone understands what a risk Russia is. And today, taking air defense systems from a city that is being shelled and transferring them to the airport would be unfair. People are more important than planes, Zelensky said.
Recall that earlier, Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba indicated that the Ukrainian Aviation Service is 95% ready and can resume flights within 45-50 days from the date of the relevant decision. However, the main factor that currently prevents the restoration of air travel is the safety of passengers.
