US President Donald Trump brokered a new reconciliation in the Middle East: Bahrain established diplomatic relations with Israel. The American leader announced this on Twitter.
“Today is another historic breakthrough! Two of our wonderful friends, Israel and the Kingdom of Bahrain, have agreed to make peace – the second Arab country to make peace with Israel in 30 days, ”Trump wrote.
In a joint statement, the countries announced that the move would enable further progress towards peace across the region. According to Reuters experts, this process is associated with the strengthening of Iran, which is seen as a threat to most of its neighbors in the Middle East.
Earlier on September 11, it became known that Trump was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for the second time in recent years. One of the authors of this initiative believes that the American president deserves it for the reconciliation of Israel and the United Arab Emirates, another – that he should be rewarded for normalizing relations between Serbia and the partially recognized republic of Kosovo.
