The SBU military counterintelligence service, in cooperation with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, eliminated a corrupt scheme for the sale of rear military positions in the Kiev region.

They offered service in the rear for money
According to the case materials, the criminals, in exchange for bribes of $15,000 to $25,000, helped servicemen transfer to units that were not involved in performing tasks on the front lines.

In addition, the defendants offered their clients dismissal from military service on the basis of fictitious certificates of a sharp deterioration in health.
The criminal scheme also involved five medical acquaintances. They found clients and arranged for them to be hospitalized fictitiously.
Depending on the amount of the bribe, patients received the status of limited fitness or completely unfit for military service, followed by transfer to non-combat positions or discharge into the reserve.
Two organizers of the criminal deal were caught red-handed in Kyiv while transferring funds from clients.
During the searches, cash obtained through criminal means and forged documents were seized from the suspects.
SBU investigators informed the detainees of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations during a special period, as well as abuse of influence.
The suspects face up to eight years in prison with confiscation of property.
